A Happier Life for Everyone
For residents with impaired memory, ElderWood’s Seasons® Memory Care program makes life enjoyable again. Seasons describes a disease progression based on the seasons of the year, from Spring for people with greater ability to Winter for those who require less demanding activities. Staff use information about each resident’s past lifestyle, career, family, hobbies and interests to develop personalized activities that make them feel comfortable.
Seasons staff members are specially trained to understand, communicate and interact with memory-impaired individuals, developing warm relationships that enhance residents’ comfort and quality of life. Staff deliver care with exceptional patience, compassion and skill, within an environment designed to be soothing and home-like.
Seasons activities programs at our long-term care facilities utilize an in-house adult day care approach. Residents in day and evening programs participate according to their abilities.
Benefits of Seasons programming include:
- Reduced frustration, anxiety
- Fewer behavior issues
- Decrease in use of behavior-controlling medications
- Weight management
- Better quality of life
Security and Comfort
Seasons Secure Environments are offered at ElderWood Health Care at Tioga and ElderWood Health Care at Wedgewood. Both long-term care residences offer safety and security for individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia who may be at risk for wandering. Security is enhanced both by the physical design of the Memory Care Unit and the activities and re-direction provided by ElderWood’s well-trained staff.
